Breathwork Techniques: Your Guide to Chakra & Pain Relief

Unlock Spiritual Power: Your Practical Guide to Breathwork (Part 2)

Welcome back! In our first post, we discussed the incredible connection between your breath and pranic energy, and how it influences your spiritual power and even your lifespan. If the first part was about the "why," this is all about the "how." Now, let's explore practical, easy-to-use techniques to harness the power of your breath for maximum higher energy absorption.

The methods are simple, and their use is even easier. You just need to be mindful of two fundamental principles:

  1. Relaxation is Key: Do not rush. Let your breath flow in a completely natural, comfortable rhythm. Forcing your breath creates tension, which blocks the very energy you are trying to absorb.

  2. Focus with Closed Eyes: Close your eyes for a few moments, ideally between two to ten minutes. This simple act immediately engages your Third Eye Chakra, allowing you to turn your attention inward and enhance your awareness of the subtle energies at play.

Your ultimate goal is to increase your breathing cycle—to simply deepen your breath. But how exactly do you do that?

Mastering Your Breath: Simple Keys to Activating Higher Energy

  1. Be Aware of Your Breath: The most powerful tool is your own awareness. As soon as you bring your focus to your breath, it naturally becomes deeper. It's a spontaneous, almost magical effect. You can do this anytime, anywhere—while cooking, washing the car, doing laundry, or waiting in line. The moment you become aware of your breath, you are taking the first step toward energy healing.

  2. Lengthen Your Breath: Consciously try to increase the time you spend inhaling, exhaling, and holding your breath. Even adding a single second to each phase can make a huge difference over time.

  3. Incorporate Movement: Practices like pranayama, yoga, and aerobic exercises also naturally increase the duration of your breath cycle. Regular practice of these activities is a powerful way to train your body to breathe more efficiently and deeply, both on and off the mat.

1. Balancing Your Chakras with Breath

Our body contains seven major chakras, or energy centers, that are responsible for our physical and spiritual well-being.1 When a chakra is blocked or out of balance, it can lead to physical and emotional problems.2 You can use the power of your breath to cleanse and balance each one.3

A Step-by-Step Chakra Cleansing Method

Begin by sitting comfortably with your eyes closed. Starting from the Crown Chakra, work your way down to the Root Chakra, focusing on each energy center one by one.

  • Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Located at the top of your head. As you inhale, visualize it receiving cosmic energy and glowing with a brilliant white or violet light.

  • Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Located between your eyebrows.4 Take a deep breath and visualize it absorbing light and activating your intuition.

  • Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Located in your throat. Breathe deeply and feel this center of communication becoming open and vibrant.

  • Heart Chakra (Anahata): Located in the center of your chest. Send a deep, loving breath here, feeling it expand with green or pink light.

  • Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Located above your navel. Breathe in strength and confidence, visualizing this chakra glowing a bright yellow.

  • Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Located below your navel. Send a warm breath here, imagining it glowing a vibrant orange and restoring creativity.

  • Root Chakra (Muladhara): Located at the base of your spine. Inhale deeply, grounding yourself and visualizing this chakra glowing a powerful red.

As you perform this exercise, your Third Eye Chakra will become more active. With continued practice, you may begin to see the specific colors of your chakras. The colors that are most visible to you signify which chakras are awakened and active. The goal is to bring all of your chakras into a harmonious and vibrant balance.

2. Breathing for Freedom from Disease

Your breath is not only a spiritual tool but a powerful resource for spiritual healing and managing physical ailments.

A Powerful Healing Method

Close your eyes, find a comfortable position, and breathe deeply. Now, focus your entire awareness on the area where you feel pain. If you have multiple aches and are unable to pinpoint the source, simply command your body to help you identify it. In a few moments, you will feel a sensation—a subtle change or a stronger feeling in a specific spot. Your mind may also recall an emotion or memory that is the true, energetic source of the pain.

Once you have identified the source, consciously send cosmic energy to that place with every breath you take. As you continue this practice, you will notice the pain beginning to subside. You are not just focusing on a physical spot; you are sending vital energy to the root of the problem, allowing your body's natural healing ability to take over.

3. Releasing Stress and Pain through Breath

This method is specifically designed to cleanse your mind and body of negative energy and stress.

A Simple Relaxation Technique

Sit down, close your eyes, and take a moment to acknowledge your stress or pain. First, mentally quantify it—give it a percentage. Now, make a firm decision that with every exhale, you will release that stress. Do this with complete comfort and ease; do not strain or force your breath.

Generally, the exhalation period is shorter than the inhalation, but as you practice this technique, you will find that your exhalation naturally becomes longer—even double the length of your inhalation. This is your body's way of telling you that it is releasing negativities. Continue until you reach zero percent. After this deep healing process, you will feel completely relaxed and may even fall into a deep, peaceful sleep.

An Alternative Method for Pain Management

If you have consistent pain like a headache, back pain, or knee pain, focus on the area. Ask your body to show you the exact source of the discomfort. As you become more attuned to your body, it will communicate with you through emotions or sensations. Once you find the source, focus your attention there and send cosmic power to it through your breath. As your practice increases, your pain will gradually decrease. You can also visualize yourself literally throwing that pain out of your body with every exhalation.

What do you think? Is inhalation and exhalation just a normal phenomenon? How do you feel about these powerful techniques?
